Frequently asked questions

The questions we're asked most often before a job starts. If yours isn't covered here, get in touch directly — we'd rather answer it properly than leave you guessing.

Do you provide free quotes?

Yes — every quote follows a free, on-site visit with no obligation to book. We measure up properly and look at the actual condition of the walls, woodwork or render before giving a figure, rather than quoting from a description over the phone.

Are you insured?

Yes, we carry full public and employer's liability insurance, and every job is covered by our own guarantee. Certificates are available on request, which we're used to providing for managing agents and commercial clients who need documentation on file.

How far in advance should I book?

Most interior jobs are scheduled two to four weeks out from the quote. Exterior work depends a little on the weather window, since masonry paint needs a dry, mild spell to cure properly — we'll be upfront if that pushes a start date back.

Do you supply the paint?

We can supply trade-quality paint as standard, or work with a specific brand and colour you've already bought or chosen. Either way, we confirm the finish and product before starting, not after the first coat is drying.

What areas do you cover?

Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, North Shields, Tynemouth, Whitley Bay, Ponteland, Darras Hall, Morpeth, Alnwick, Hexham and Durham, plus most of Northumberland and Tyne & Wear within roughly a 30-mile radius. Not sure if you're in range? Just ask.

Will I need to move out or empty the room?

No — almost all of our interior work happens in occupied homes. We move and cover furniture ourselves, work room by room where that helps, and keep the rest of the house usable throughout. For a full exterior repaint, you don't need to be out of the house at all.

Can you work around my business's opening hours?

Yes — commercial and let-property jobs are usually scheduled early morning, evening or weekend to avoid disrupting trade or tenants. We agree the working schedule as part of the quote, so there are no surprises once the job's underway.

What happens if you find a problem once the job's started?

We tell you straight away, explain what we've found — a damp patch, rot in a window frame, blown render — and give you the option before doing anything about it. Nothing gets added to a job or an invoice without that conversation happening first.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes, every job we complete is covered by our own guarantee. If something we've done doesn't hold up the way it should, get in touch and we'll come back and put it right.

How do I get a quote?

Call, email or fill in the form on our contact page with a few details about the job. We'll arrange a free site visit, and you'll usually have a written quote within 48 hours of that visit.
